7 healthcare organizations adding jobs

The following healthcare organizations shared plans to hire workers since Feb. 16, starting with the most recent.

1. UHS unit to add 50 employees for billing office
A physician practice management unit of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services seeks 50 employees for a new billing office. The unit, Independence Physician Management, is opening the Malvern, Pa.-based office this spring.

2. Tenn. hospital seeks employees ahead of reopening
West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Rennova Health opened an online portal to assist in hiring employees for Oneida, Tenn.-based Big South Fork Medical Center. Rennova said the hospital received nearly 200 job applications within hours of opening the online job portal to community members.

3. Geisinger Health System to hire 2,000 additional employees
Six months after declaring its intent to hire 1,500 employees, Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System plans to hire an additional 2,000 employees in 2017.

4. Mercyhealth will look to hire more than 400 workers to staff new hospital Mercyhealth said it expects to hire more than 400 employees for its new facility in Rockford, Ill., but noted it likely won't actively seek to fill those positions until 2018.

5. Yukon-Kuskokwim Health plans $300M primary care clinic, hospital renovations
Officials with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp., a tribal health organization for residents of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region in Alaska, are working with consulting firm Arcadis on a $300 million project to build an advanced primary care health clinic and renovate the corporation's hospital. The clinic is expected to bring more than 200 jobs to the region.

6. W.W. Hastings Hospital breaks ground on $150M expansion
Officials of the Cherokee Nation and Indian Health Service broke ground on a 469,000-square-foot expansion at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla.The construction project will create about 350 local jobs. Once completed in 2019, the facility will add another 850 healthcare positions at the hospital.

7. Genesis seeks to fill 50 non-clinical positions
Zanesville, Ohio-based Genesis HealthCare System seeks to fill 50 non-clinical positions. The available jobs are a mix of full and part-time positions and include food service, cleaning service and general clerical roles.
