6 healthcare organizations adding jobs

The following healthcare organizations shared plans to hire workers since Jan. 19, starting with the most recent.

1. GE to hire 20k women for STEM jobs by 2020
GE announced a new goal: to bridge the company's gender gap by 2020. To reach gender parity, GE plans to hire 20,000 women to fill STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) roles, including jobs related to engineering, manufacturing, IT and product management.

2. $500M hospital in North Dakota to open this summer
Construction is complete on the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D. The 11-story Sanford Medical Center will hire approximately 300 food and environment services employees and roughly 50 more nurses for the medical center, the report states.

3. UnitedHealthcare to hire more than 250 in NY, Florida
Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare is looking to hire 110 full-time customer service and claims representatives in Ulster, N.Y., and 160 in Oldsmar, Fla. The insurer currently employs 615 at its Ulster facility, with the 110 hires filling new positions.

4. Kentucky RCM firm plans new call center: 3 things to know
Credit Bureau Systems, a healthcare revenue cycle management firm, plans to expand its corporate facilities with a new call center. The 10,000-square-foot call center is expected to create 50 jobs in the firm's Paducah headquarters.

5. Mercy Health System plans microhospital: 5 things to know
Janesville, Wis.-based Mercy Health System plans to build a microhospital in Crystal Lake, Ill. Mercy said the microhospital would create more than 150 jobs. That's in addition to employees who would transfer to the site from four nearby Crystal Lake clinics and one clinic in Lake in the Hills, Ill.

6. Aurora Health Care to open ambulatory surgery center
Kenosha, Wis.-based Aurora Health Care plans to build an ambulatory surgery center and physician office building near Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. The facility is expected to create as many as 140 healthcare jobs.
