University Hospitals eyes adding Samaritan Regional Health System

Cleveland-based University Hospitals and Samaritan Regional Health System, based in Ashland, Ohio, are taking steps toward signing a letter of intent to integrate SRHS into the UH system.

SRHS decided to pursue the deal with UH after a year-long process of searching for a system to partner with.

"University Hospitals' culture is similar to ours at Samaritan, and we feel an integration will be beneficial for all," said Danny Boggs, president and CEO of SRHS.

The integration will be thoroughly evaluated by both systems, and that process is expected to last several months.
