New Orleans Finalizes Acquisition of Methodist Hospital
The city of New Orleans has officially acquired Methodist Hospital from Universal Health Services for $16.25 million, according to a report by WWLTV News.The hospital is currently shuttered, never reopening after Hurricane Katrina.
The city's administration has vowed to reopen the facility, which serves the eastern area of New Orleans and includes the Lower Ninth Ward, according to the report.
The city plans to reopen the facility by 2013, according to previous reports.
