Syracuse, N.Y.-based FamilyCare Medical Group has affiliated with two subsidiaries of Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare, according to the Business Journal News Network.
The two subsidiaries include Molina Healthcare of New York and Molina Medical Group.
Under the agreement, Molina will support FCMG's efforts to improve its Medicaid customers' access to care. Molina Healthcare of New York policyholders will also gain access to FCMG's specialty services.
The organizations will also explore the possibility of creating a transportation system to transport patients to and from appointments, and will work to strengthen FCMG's clinical programs to benefit both institutions.
"We're excited to be introducing our clinical operations to the state and we hope to open our first clinic in central New York by the end of the year," said Carrie Harris-Muller, senior vice president of clinical integration and strategic partnerships for Molina Healthcare. "This partnership is a great opportunity for us to expand our footprint to one of the top Medicaid markets in the country and to continue to fulfill our mission to provide access to care in underserved communities."
