McKenzie Health System, Marlette Regional Hospital to Affiliate

McKenzie Health System in Sandusky, Mich., and Marlette (Mich.) Regional Hospital are working toward a joint affiliation agreement, according to a Sandusky Tribune report.

The hospitals have worked together regularly over the past few years to develop projects aimed at increasing patients' access to care and decreasing costs at each facility.

According to the report, McKenzie Health and Marlette Regional are committed to preserving the unique attributes of each organization, while capitalizing on their strengths. For this reason, both entities will retain their licenses, name, services and funds or assets accumulated in the past or future.

The affiliation will create a parent company with equal representation from leaders of both organizations. According to the report, a final affiliation agreement will be submitted to the board of incorporators of Marlette Regional Hospital and the corporate board of McKenzie Health System for approval.
