Christ Hospital Health Network inks $3.5M health deal with local school district

Cincinnati-based Christ Hospital Health Network and Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, also in Cincinnati, signed a $3.5 million athletic marketing agreement with the Lakota school district in Butler County, Ohio, according to the Journal-News.

Under the agreement, the health organizations will provide six full-time athletic trainers and will fund 10 academic scholarships, worth $1,000 each. The organizations will also donate $150,000 to fund the school district's sports programs and $10,000 to the district's various fundraising initiatives. Students will have the opportunity to participate in internships with the two healthcare providers. In exchange, the school district will allow the organizations to market their brands at various athletic and district-wide events.

"In our new partnership with Lakota we want to serve more than just student athletes. This internship program is the first step in our commitment to provide high quality educational services to the district," said Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine CEO Andy Blankemeyer. "We are excited about this first step and look forward to adding new opportunities for students along with our partners at Christ Hospital."
