Cedars-Sinai acquires Marina Del Rey Hospital

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Health System has purchased 145-bed Marina Del Rey (Calif.) Hospital.

Marina Del Rey was previously owned by a partnership led by Westridge Capital. The hospital will now operate as a community hospital affiliate of the Cedars-Sinai Health System and will convert to nonprofit status.

Cedars-Sinai President and CEO Thomas M. Priselac expressed excitement about the deal and said he looks forward to working with Marina Del Rey's management, medical staff and employees to understand the opportunities that are available to enhance the services the hospital offers.

Marina Del Rey CEO Sean Fowler said, "This is a positive move for Marina Del Rey Hospital, allowing our management team to accelerate our progress toward achieving strategic goals while creating opportunities for additional growth and program enhancement."
