BJC HealthCare, 3 Other Hospitals Launch Collaborative Partnership

St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare, Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke's Health System, Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth and Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health System have announced a partnership to create The BCJ Collaborative, which will bring the health systems together to work toward achieving higher quality care.

The four health systems will remain independent but will work together to deploy clinical programs and services to improve quality, cost and access to care. The collaborative also plans to develop and share best practices around population health management, training, capital asset management, financial services and information systems and technology.

"This is a good day for BJC and a great day for patients served by each of our hospitals," Steven Lipstein, president & CEO of BJC HealthCare and board chairman of the Collaborative, said in a statement. "We are embarking on an innovative journey to work across systems and states in ways that have not been done before. We are confident that being able to learn from others and share what we know will be beneficial to all of our patients."
