Adventist Health, Tehachapi Valley affiliation on June ballot

Voters will decide on a proposed affiliation between Tehachapi (Calif.) Valley Healthcare District and Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health, according to a Tehachapi News report.

The issue, Measure H, is slated for the June 7 ballot.

Passage of Measure H allows the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District to enter into an affiliation with Adventist Health to help complete construction of the new hospital in Tehachapi, according to the report. The measure also establishes a lease agreement to help maintain buildings and take care of daily operations of the district, the report notes.

Under the affiliation, Adventist Health would provide the TVHD the additional $27 million needed to complete the hospital.

If voters approve the measure, the Adventist Health affiliation most likely would take effect July 1. All current employees of the TVHD would retain their jobs, but would be under Adventist Health.

If Measure H doesn't pass, the TVHD would have to find the additional $27 million to complete construction, according to the report.
