The following healthcare mergers, acquisitions and general partnerships took place or were announced in the past week. 

1. RCCA partners with Connecticut cancer center
Hackensack, N.J.-based Regional Cancer Care Associates continued its expansion along the East Coast with the acquisition of Medical Oncology and Blood Disorders, a cancer center based in Hartford, Conn.

2. CHOP signs preclinical research collaboration with NeuroVive
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia signed a preclinical research agreement with Lund, Sweden-based NeuroVive Pharmaceutical AB to advance research and development in models of mitochondrial complex I dysfunction.

3. ADCS Clinics completes acquisition of Dermatology Associates of Colorado
Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, one of the nation's largest dermatology practices, acquired Dermatology Associates of Colorado.

4. Shelby Memorial Hospital joins Hospital Sisters Health System, rebrands
Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville, Ill., joined Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System Jan. 23.

5. Michigan women's health center sells for $43.5M
A Florida real estate investment firm purchased Grand Rapids-based Women's Health Center of West Michigan, a four-story, 106,806-square-foot medical building, for $43.5 million.

6. Navicent Health to join AVIA network
Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health joined the Chicago-based AVIA Innovator Network, a network of more than 20 health systems seeking to transform healthcare through digital strategy. 

7. Rideout Regional Medical Center, Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health collaborate on mental health program
Marysville, Calif.-based Rideout Regional Medical Center, in collaboration with Yuba City, Calif.-based Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health and Emeryville, Calif.-based CEP America, will work together on a collaborative mental health program to provide patients with quality care and to notify them of community resources available for use.

8. Stillwater Medical Center takes full ownership of Oklahoma hospice center
Stillwater (Okla.) Medical Center's board of trustees approved a proposal to buy out the medical center's partner and become the sole owner of Judith Karman Bristol Hospice, also in Stillwater.

9. Mednax to acquire neonatology practice in Utah
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Mednax acquired Salt Lake City-based Western Newborn Specialists, a private neonatal physician practice.

10. San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF negotiate lease for new research building
UCSF's board of supervisors' budget finance committee will consider committing to a 75-year lease on a 175,000-square-foot research facility set to be constructed atop a parking lot structure outside San Francisco General Hospital's former emergency room. The project will reportedly cost $200 million.

11. 9 Indiana hospitals sign letter of intent to create medical residency consortium
Leaders from nine northwest Indiana health organizations signed a letter of intent to create a medical residency consortium to train future physicians based at local hospitals, community health centers and mental health agencies.

12. UnityPoint Health-Meriter to affiliate with Wisconsin hospital
Madison, Wis.-based UnityPoint Health-Meriter affiliated with Darlington, Wis.-based Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.

13. Montefiore Health System partners with Quest Diagnostics for lab services
Bronx, N.Y.-based Montefiore Health System inked a partnership agreement with Quest Diagnostics allowing the company to provide diagnostic laboratory services at the health system.

14. Navicent Health, The Medical Center collaborate on program to help patients with atrial fibrillation
Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health and Bowling Green, Ky.-based The Medical Center partnered on a program to raise awareness and offer medical assistance to patients with atrial fibrillation. 

15. Northwell Health to acquire NY home healthcare agency
New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health plans to acquire the Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, a certified nonprofit home healthcare agency.

16. Ridgecrest Regional Hospital joins UC Davis Cancer Center Network
Ridgecrest (Calif.) Regional Hospital teamed up with the UC Davis Cancer Care Network to expand and improve oncology services to residents in the Ridgecrest area.

17. NewYork-Presbyterian Queens partners with St. John's University
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens (N.Y.) will become the official hospital of Jamaica, N.Y.-based St. John's University's athletic department.

18. Buffalo Heart Group merges with Catholic Health
Buffalo (N.Y.) Heart Group joined Trinity Medical WNY, the physician practice network affiliated with Catholic Health, also located in Buffalo.

19. Prime Healthcare to convert RI hospital back into nonprofit
Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare will convert Woonsocket, R.I.-based Landmark Medical Center back into a nonprofit entity by donating the organization to its foundation, the Prime Healthcare Foundation.

20. UIC, Chicago sign partnership formalizing state's first academic public health department
The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health and the Chicago Department of Public Health signed a 10-year agreement to form the state's first academic public health department. 

21. Walgreens-Rite Aid merger deal expires Friday: 7 points on where things stand
Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens Boots Alliance CEO Stefano Pessina told shareholders during the company's annual meeting Jan. 26 Walgreens is intent on using "all the instruments and actions it can put in place" to facilitate the merger with Camp Hill, Pa.-based Rite Aid.

22. Passavant Area Hospital acquires Physical Therapists Clinic
Jacksonville, Ill.-based Passavant Area Hospital will acquire Physical Therapists Clinic, which has locations in Jacksonville and Beardstown, Ill.

23. Moab Regional Hospital acquires family medicine center
On Jan. 1, Moab (Utah) Regional Hospital acquired Moab Family Medicine in an effort to establish better healthcare stability for local residents.
