4. South Nassau has more than 800 physicians and 3,000 employees.

5. South Nassau Communities Hospital recorded $1.1 billion in gross revenue and an excess of revenue and gains over expenses of $36.4 million in 2010.

6. The hospital discharged a total of 22,297 patients, including newborns, in 2011. South Nassau performed 4,200 inpatient and 9,100 outpatient surgeries as well as 1,700 births last year. Additionally, the hospital had 328,500 outpatient visits in 2011.

7. The hospital received the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for disease-specific care in knee and hip replacement

8. South Nassau Communities Hospital opened on Nov. 12, 1928 and had 50 beds.
