1. Paul Pawlak serves as president and CEO.       

2. William Brownlow serves as senior vice president of finance and CFO.         

3. The hospital has 289 beds.

4. The hospital has 1,323 total employees.  

5. In 2011, the hospital performed 3,100 inpatient surgeries, 9,200 outpatient surgeries and 1,900 births, and had 43,800 outpatient visits, 18,000 non-admitted emergency department visits and 13,000 admitted emergency department visits.  

6. In 2011, the hospital recorded $758.5 million in gross charges and $10.7 million in net income, according to the American Hospital Directory.

7. In 2013, the hospital received a Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades.

8. Silver Cross Hospital admitted its first patient in 1895.  At its founding, the hospital had 33 beds and was two stories tall. The current hospital building, opened in 2012, has 289 beds on 76 acres.

9. The new hospital features services from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago Medicine.  

10. In 1946, the average cost per patient-day was $9.39.
