5. In 2011, the hospital performed 100 inpatient surgeries and 600 outpatient surgeries and had 9,000 outpatient visits, 4,100 non-admitted emergency department visits and 900 admitted emergency department visits.  

6. In 2011, the hospital recorded $39.5 million in gross charges and $214,175 in net income, according to the American Hospital Directory.

7. The hospital received a Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2013.  

8. The hospital opened in January 1979 following a ballot measure to close the county's two existing hospitals and open a more centralized facility to serve the entire county. In 1986, the Pickens County Hospital Association leased the hospital to Pickens County Medical Center, a group of medical staff in the community.       

9. The hospital offers a scholarship for Pickens County resident pursuing a career in healthcare.
