1. Enrique Beckmann, MD, PhD, serves as CEO and CMO.        

2. John Cookinham serves as CFO.  

3. The hospital has 330 beds.

4. The hospital has 1,300 total employees.  

5. In 2011, the hospital performed 2,200 inpatient surgeries, 6,500 outpatient surgeries and 3,100 births, and had 27,000 outpatient visits, 16,900 non-admitted emergency department visits and 9,300 admitted emergency department visits.  

6. In 2011, the hospital recorded $471.8 million in gross charges and $7.7 million in net losses, according to the American Hospital Directory.

7. In 2013, the hospital received a Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades.

8. The hospital was founded as St. Francis Hospital in 1909. The original building was demolished in 1948 to allow room for a new facility.  

9. In April 2011, the hospital completed its conversion to all-private rooms.

10. MetroSouth Medical Center is the largest employer in Blue Island.
