7. Saint Thomas Hospital was named as one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation by Thomson Reuters in 2012.

8. Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac originally founded the Daughters of Charity in Paris. In 1898, Thomas Sebastian Byrne, the fifth Catholic Bishop of Nashville, Tenn., asked the Daughters of Charity to establish Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

9. The hospital received an "A" grade in hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group in 2012.
