University of Miami, Holy Cross Hospital residency program ready for 2015 launch

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Holy Cross Hospital Medicine Residency Program is set to launch in July 2015 after receiving accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based hospital and the medical school have been working together for nearly two years to launch the residency program, taking steps such as submitting the residency application, recruiting and developing faculty, and completing the ACGME site survey.

Those interested in the internal medicine residency program — which will expand to train a total of 42 residents — will be able to apply to the program by Oct. 1 through the Electronic Residency Application Service.
