Texas integrated care system expands physician base

Irving, Texas-based USMD Health System announced today the addition of three new physicians to support the increasing demand for healthcare services, meaning the network has added 18 physicians in total this year.

Two of the new physicians, Jennifer Duewall, MD and Brittany Shoemake, MD, will join USMD's internal medicince physicians, bringing the total to 59 and the system's number of primary care physicians that accept Medicare to 100. The third physician, Amanda Muir, MD, specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics and will work as a floating, fill-in physician across the network.

USMD Health System is a physician-led integrated healthcare system with a total of 250 physicians and associate practitioners. USMD has 2 hospitals, 6 cancer centers and 70 physician clinics. Its 29 primary care clinics are all accredited by the patient-centered medical home program.
