Suspect pleads not guilty to murder of 2 Boston physicians: 6 updates to the case

Bampumim Teixeira, 30, pleaded not guilty to two counts each of first-degree murder, armed robbery and kidnapping and one count of armed home invasion for the deaths of Richard Field, MD, and Lina Bolanos, MD, according to CBS News.

Here are six updates to the case.

1. Mr. Teixeira was indicted for the alleged murders June 30.

2. During court proceedings July 10, prosecutor John Pappas said Mr. Teixeira had prior knowledge of Drs. Field and Bolanos' condominium complex after briefly working as a concierge at the facility in 2016. He said Mr. Teixeira "was seen lurking" around the complex at about 2:40 p.m. EST and again in the garage around 4 p.m. EST May 5.

3. Mr. Pappas claimed Mr. Teixeira entered the couple's penthouse through a stairwell leading up from the garage, carrying a backpack containing two replica guns, a knife and duct tape, according to the report. Mr. Pappas alleged the suspect entered the couple's condo and proceeded to tie their hands and cut their throats.

4. Mr. Teixeira had no personal relationship with the victims, Mr. Pappas said.

5. During the proceedings, Mr. Teixeira's lawyer did not address the charges against his client, but did reserve the right to request bail at a future date, according to the report.

6. Mr. Teixeira will return to court Sept. 12.
