Rural Physicians Group to enter investment partnership with Sorenson Capital, Leavitt Equity Partners

Las Vegas-based Rural Physicians Group announced Tuesday an agreement to enter a strategic investment partnership with Salt Lake City-based private equity firm Sorenson Capital and Salt Lake City-based healthcare private equity fund Leavitt Equity Partners.

Rural Physicians Group matches hospitalists with hospitals to help reduce patient transfer and provide accessible care in rural areas. The partnership will help the group grow and expand its reach.

"We couldn't have asked for better strategic partners than Sorenson Capital and Leavitt Equity Partners," Sukh Pannu, MD, Rural Physician Group's founder and president, said in a statement. "They both bring very specific skill sets in terms of fostering growth in our organization. Because they truly understand the market need and how we are positioned to solve it, they provide us additional resources and direction to accelerate our outreach to rural American communities. Our hospitalist model is customized to fit the specific needs of each hospital, providing an improved patient experience and operational results."
