ProMedica, University of Toledo to affiliate: 5 things to know

Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica Health System has announced a long-term academic affiliation agreement with the University of Toledo. 

Here are five things to know about the agreement.

1.  The agreement will include a commitment by ProMedica to support the following University of Toledo programs: College of Medicine and Life Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Health Sciences, according to a news release.

2.  The focus of the agreement is on academics and research.

3. The goal is to create an academic medical center at ProMedicaToledoHospital and Toledo Children's Hospital that is among the best in the U.S., according to a news release.

4. The plan is for the majority of medical students, residents, fellows and other health profession learners to be placed at ProMedica facilities.

5. As part of the final agreement, both parties will implement a multi-year transition plan, according to a news release. University of Toledo faculty and ProMedica clinical leadership will play a critical role in developing the plan.
