Mount Sinai, Henry Ford Health System ranked among most diverse hospitals

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System and Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System were named among the most diverse hospitals in the U.S., according to a survey by DiversityInc.

For the survey, eligible applicants were asked a series of 200 questions about diversity, including female representation in their executive leadership, minority representation in the workforce and manager accountability for promoting diversity.

Eligible organizations must have at least 1,000 U.S. employees; submit a notarized form signed by the organization's CEO, chief human resources officer or other corporate officer affirming the data provided; and complete the National Organization on Disability's disability employment tracker.

Here are the 12 most diverse hospitals and health systems in the nation, according to DiversityInc.

  2. Henry Ford Health System (Detroit)
  3. Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
  4. Moffitt Cancer Center (Tampa, Fla.)
  5. Cleveland Clinic
  6. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.)
  7. Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston)
  8. Advocate Health Care (Downers Grove, Ill.)
  9. AtlantiCare (Atlantic City, N.J.)
  10. TriHealth (Cincinnati)
  11. Bon Secours Health System (Marriottsville, Md.)
  12. Truman Medical Centers (Kansas City, Mo.)
