Miami-based Jackson Health System's board chairman Marcos Lapciuc recently said the system is "misaligned" with the University of Miami, according to a report by The Miami Herald.
Mr. Lapciuc said Jackson needs to find other opportunities for physician alignment because the University of Miami is beginning to focus on the needs of its hospital, the University of Miami Hospital, which is across the street from one of Jackson's hospitals, according to the report.
Pascal Goldschmidt, dean of the UM medical school, said the University of Miami is "confused" by Mr. Lapciuc's statements, according to the report.
