DaVita HealthCare Partners to purchase Colorado-based multi-specialty medical group

Torrance, Calif.-based HealthCare Partners, a division of the dialysis and population health giant DaVita HealthCare Partners, will acquire Colorado Springs (Colo.) Health Partners, the company announced Wednesday.

HealthCare Partners operates medical groups and affiliated physician networks in California, Nevada, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. The purchase of Colorado Springs Health Partners expands HealthCare Partners into a seventh state, the home of its Denver-based division, DaVita Kidney Care.

Colorado Springs Health Partners is one of the largest physician practices in the state, with more than 100 physicians and 11 locations in southern Colorado.

"By combining a nationally recognized patient-centered physician practice with our existing international footprint and extensive clinical capabilities, we are creating a new paradigm of high-quality, affordable, personalized health care in Colorado," DaVita HealthCare Partners Co-chairman and CEO Kent Thiry said.

The deal is expected to close at the end of the year.
