Salinas Valley Memorial Approves Contract With Union
The board of directors for Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System in Salinas, Calif., has approved a tentative agreement between the hospital and its employees who are represented by the National Union of Healthcare Workers, according to a NUHW release.The hospital and the workers, which include licensed vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants and technicians, agreed to a contract following nearly a year of negotiations. The new contract includes wage increases of 3.25-18.25 percent over the term of the contract.
Union members went on strike in October over failed negotiations.
