Republican governors form group for healthcare reform

About 12 Republican governors, led by Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are banding together to promote their ideas on healthcare reform, according to Reuters.

The group drafted a nine-page proposal for healthcare reform in February, but is now seeking to form a bipartisan coalition of states to work on a healthcare plan, according to the report. The group includes governors from Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin.

The group wants to keep Medicaid expansion and allow additional states to expand their programs, but limit funding for some populations through block grants or per capita caps, according to the report. They also want to address individual marketplace reforms, but have not crafted a plan yet.
