The book offers a deep, personal look at the youths and careers of five women who have reached the top of their professions in the Netherlands; hoping to inspire others to do the same.
McKinstry's profile leaves out little detail; covering her Italian-Scottish heritage, her favorite book as a child: The Little Engine That Could – with its message of optimism and the virtues of hard work – her journey towards becoming Wolters Kluwer's first female CEO in 2003, her role in driving the Company's digital transformation, through to her current position as the longest-sitting CEO in the Netherlands.
The other four women profiled in the book are: Edith Schippers, Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, who received the first copy of the book today, Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, a mail and e-commerce company of 60,000 employees, Else Bos, CEO of PGGM, a Dutch pension fund service provider managing pension assets worth in excess of EUR 183 billion and Miriam Sijmons, CEO, ArboNed, an occupational health and safety service provider monitoring the health and conditions of over one million employees in the Netherlands.
