Staff -
Nurses at Washington, D.C.'s Washington Hospital Center have set March 4 as the date for their one-day strike, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

About 1,600 nurses are protesting attempts to cut nurses' pay as well as a lack of progress on resolving alleged patient safety problems and nursing standards, according to the report.

The hospital has contracted with a Colorado replacement-nurse company for the day of the strike and will pay the replacement nurses for an entire week of work.
