New Swedish Covenant Hospital CEO Anthony Guaccio visits 30 floors in first 30 days

Hours after officially starting his role as Chicago-based Swedish Covenant Hospital's president and CEO, Anthony Guaccio embarked on his goal to visit 30 floors of the hospital in 30 days.

Mr. Guaccio assumed his role July 1, but has held various leadership positions at the hospital for more than 20 years, including serving as COO for the past decade.

"These visits have allowed me to introduce myself or reintroduce myself and thank our excellent providers, nurses, staff members and volunteers, many of whom I have gotten to know during my 20 years at the hospital," said Mr. Guaccio, who assumed his new position on July 1. "I have been gathering feedback from our staff and meeting with patients to learn firsthand how we can best care for them here and as they return home."

Despite its large size — Swedish Covenant Hospital is comprised of more than 2,500 employees — Mr. Guaccio says he values the strong sense of family at the hospital.

"As I have stated many times before, I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead this fine institution and its excellent staff," he said. "I am excited for all of us to work together to care for our patients and our community."
