Medical Center of McKinney rebrands as Medical City McKinney: 3 things to know

Last month, Medical Center of McKinney (Texas) became Medical City McKinney, according to a Community Impact Newspaper report.

Here are three things to know.

1. While Medical Center of McKinney has changed names, it has not changed owners, according to the report. The hospital is part of Irving, Texas –based Medical City Healthcare, which is a division of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America.

2. Additionally, the hospital's leadership, physicians, nurses and staff remain intact, and no changes are slated for the list of insurance policies the hospital accepts, hospital officials said in the report.

3. The name change for Medical Center of McKinney comes about two months after Hospital Corporation of America North Texas rebranded as Medical City Healthcare. The new name affects all 13 hospitals in the HCA North Texas network as well as seven off-campus hospital emergency departments.
