Mayo Clinic Eliminates 14 Nursing Positions
Mayo Clinic has eliminated 14 nursing positions at its headquarter site in Rochester, Minn., according to a Post-Bulletin report.
The hospital trimmed the discharge planning nurse positions on June 2. A Mayo spokesperson said the move was made to "improve service to patients and eliminate duplication of effort," according to the report.
The spokesperson also said all affected nurses were offered the opportunity to work in other nursing roles at Mayo, and the discharge planning work was shifted to other "internal resources," according to the report.
