Gov. Andrew Cuomo: Healthcare debate is a class struggle

At the opening of a new Brooklyn clinic for members of New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., called the Senate's current battle over healthcare legislation a class a struggle pitting the wealthy against everyone else, according to North Country Public Radio.

"Make no mistake. The rich are always going to have the best healthcare system in the world," Mr. Cuomo said. "What they're trying to decide is what's the healthcare for the rest of us."

Mr. Cuomo also warned against thinking that Republican efforts to repeal the ACA are dead simply because they are stalled, calling the issue a "snake in the grass."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., plans to hold a vote on healthcare legislation next week though earlier this week it appeared that his party's efforts were stalled indefinitely due to a lack of support.
