From KFC to nursing: Why this woman's career path has gone viral

Faye Lewis, RN, a nurse at Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Medical Center, posted a photo of the six employee badges she's worn since 2008 on her Facebook page Sept. 6. The post has since gone viral, reports The State Journal-Register.

The badges outline Ms. Lewis' career path from a KFC restaurant employee to a registered nurse, with stints in between as an assisted-living center housekeeper, a nursing assistant and licensed practical nurse.

"Always remember where you come from!" Ms. Lewis wrote in the post, which has garnered 28,000 likes, 4,000 comments and 101,000 shares as of Sept. 15.

Ms. Lewis recently started graduate classes at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing to achieve her doctorate in nursing.
