El Paso (Texas) Children's Hospital has laid off five full-time employees and will not fill some open positions, according to an El Paso Times report.
The decision comes as the hospital is trying to cut costs, improve financially and ensure long-term viability.
The layoffs occurred earlier this week. However, hospital spokeswoman Susie Byrd did not tell the El Paso Times exactly what positions were cut. However, she did tell the publication, "It will not impact patient care."
