Austin-based Texas Hospital Association has awarded Michael Williams, president and CEO of Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Corp., the 2014 Earl M. Collier Award for Distinguished Health Care Administration, THA's highest honor.
THA presented the award Jan. 22 during its 2015 Annual Conference and Expo in Austin.
"I am honored to receive this prestigious award and to be included among those who have come before me. I am thankful to many throughout my career who have provided guidance to help me to be a servant leader, and ultimately, to make a difference not only in the healthcare setting, but also in the communities we serve," Mr. Williams said.
Mr. Williams has served in several hospital systems in Texas and Tennessee during his 35-year career. In 1997 he took the helm of CHC, growing the organization from the ground up. Today, the company owns, manages or provides support to 20 community hospitals across the country with revenue of $354 million.
