Cancer Treatment Centers of America welcomes 2 new board members

Boca Raton, Fla.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a national five-hospital network, has welcomed former Cleveland Clinic executive Fred DeGrandis and former biopharmaceutical executive Nancy Lurker to its national board.

Mr. DeGrandis, who currently serves as managing director and chief administrative officer for the Center for Global Health Innovation, brings 30 years of healthcare experience to the board. He spent a dozen years in executive roles at Cleveland Clinic, including leading its Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in the United Arab Emirates as president and senior advisor. He got his start more than 30 years ago at Cleveland Clinic's Lakewood (Ohio) Hospital, where he served as senior vice president, COO, legal counsel and interim CEO. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law.

Ms. Lurker has more than 25 years of biopharmaceutical experience and currently serves as director of the board for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. She has served as president, CEO and board director for PDI, a commercial services company in biopharmaceuticals. She also served at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Ms. Lurker kicked off her career as a sales representative at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she worked for 14 years. She earned her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Seattle Pacific University and holds a MBA from the University of Evansville (Ind.).
