3 things to know about new leader of KPMG's Center for Healthcare Regulatory Insight

Audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG has appointed Larry Kocot, JD, who helped develop the Medicare Part D prescription program at CMS, to lead its newly formed Center for Healthcare Regulatory Insight within KPMG's Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Kocot.

1. Mr. Kocot will be based in Washington, D.C., and will assist KPMG's clients in evaluating regulatory and policy trends driving healthcare change and industry convergence, according to KPMG.

2. Mr. Kocot has been associated with various successful healthcare policy initiatives at the Brookings Institution, since 2007, following his federal government service  as senior advisor to the administrator of CMS from 2004 to 2007.

3. Mr. Kocot has served in senior leadership roles with organizations such as ICF International, the Partnership for a Healthier America, the Commonwealth Health Research Board, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, according to KPMG. Mr. Kocot has also practiced law at various firms, including Epstein Becker & Green and Strauss, Hauer & Feld.
