25 healthcare executives assume ACHE leadership roles

Several healthcare executives have assumed new governance roles with the American College of Healthcare Executives, which is kicking off its 58th Congress on Healthcare Leadership today in Chicago.

Richard Cordova, president and CEO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, assumed office of ACHE chairman. He received the gavel from outgoing Chairman Christine Candio, RN, president and CEO of St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.

Edward Lamb, division president of the Western Division of IASIS Healthcare, was elected to serve as the chairman-elect of ACHE for 2015-16.

Additionally, four executives were elected to serve three-year terms on the board of governors for ACHE:

  • Col. James J. Burks, acting vice commander of the Air Force Medical Operations Agency at Lackland Air Force Base (San Antonio, Texas)
  • Valerie L. Powell-Stafford,  COO of Blake Medical Center (Bradenton, Fla.)
  • Heather J. Rohan, CEO of TriStar Centennial Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.)
  • Henry Ruberte, president of HR Healthcare (Cayey, Puerto Rico)

Nineteen executives were also elected to serve three-year terms as regents and four were elected to serve as regents-at-large. Three regents were also appointed to represent members on an interim basis in Arkansas, Mississippi and Wisconsin.
