10 Struggling New Jersey Hospitals Share $30M From Health Care Stabilization Fund
Ten financially failing New Jersey hospitals received grants totaling $30 million from the N.J. Health Care Stabilization Fund to continue providing healthcare, according to a Record report.A health department panel chose recipients based on nine criteria, including "extraordinary circumstances" that threaten a region's healthcare access, the hospital's role in treating uninsured patients and a hospital's plan for operating beyond the grant.
The recipients include:
1. Christ Hospital in Jersey City — $7 million
2. Hoboken Municipal Hospital Authority in Hoboken — $4.1 million
3. Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy and Old Bridge — $4 million
4. Saint Mary's Hospital in Passaic — $3.3 million
5. East Orange General Hospital in East Orange — $3 million
6. Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City — $3 million
7. St. Clare's Hospital in Denville — $1.8 million
8. Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood — $1.2 million
9. Our Lady of Lourdes Health Foundation in Camden — $1.2 million
10. Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth — $1.2 million
