Florida Hospital Opens $270M Women's Health Expansion

Orlando-based Florida Hospital is set to open two new women's centers as part of a $270 million women's health service line expansion, with one center in Winter Park, Fla., and the other in Celebration, Fla., according to a report from the Orlando Sentinel.

The hospital will open the third part of the expansion, the Florida Hospital for Women, in Orlando, some time in 2015. That hospital will offer inpatient treatments, including several types of surgical care.

The Florida Hospital for Women is the only inpatient facility in the expansion; the majority of the space among the three women's centers is focused on preventative care, according to the report.

The $7 million, 22,000-square-foot Florida Hospital for Women-Winter Park will offer specialty services such as cardiology and digestive health, while the $19 million, 80,000-square-foot Celebration Health Women's Institute will offer services such as counseling and genetic testing for cancer, according to the report.
