Children's Hospital Colorado Opens New $230M Tower

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora announced the opening of its new 355,000-square-foot East Tower.

Children's Hospital Colorado opens a new tower.The facility will house Children's Colorado's branch of the Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health, a collaboration between Children's Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital and University of Colorado School of Medicine, both in Aurora. The CIMFH includes 12 labor, delivery and recovery and postpartum rooms; one maternal operating room; one fetal intervention suite; and two infant stabilization rooms.

The tower will allow the hospital to expand several specialty care services, including the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Orthopedics Institute, Neurosciences Institute, Digestive Health Institute, Breathing Institute and intensive care services. In addition, the Heart Institute relocated to the East Tower and will feature 16 cardiac intensive care rooms, two cardiac operating rooms, two cardiac catheterization labs and a seven-bed pre- and postoperative unit.

The facility cost approximately $230 million, according to a Denver Business Journal report.
