Phoebe Putney Releases Financial Information to Public

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga., is releasing financial information to the public, according to an Albany Herald report.

The hospital's website provides audited financial reports from the years ending in 2008-2010 and the IRS Form 990 for 2007 and 2008. The hospital's Form 990 for fiscal year 2010 will be available in the next five days, according to the report.

The Form 990 includes information on executive and other compensation, meeting community health needs, the hospital's governance and its financial profile. For example, the document revealed that CEO Joel Wernick received approximately $1.3 million in total compensation and that the hospital spent $87.7 million in total community benefit expense for charity care and means-tested government programs.
