California's Hoag Memorial Hospital Opens New Facility in Irvine

Hoag Hospital Irvine (Calif.), part of the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian system, opened yesterday, replacing the former Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center, according to a Hoag Memorial news release.

Hoag Memorial spent $84 million on renovations after signing a long-term agreement with the real estate trust that owns the facility. The hospital, which was formerly operated by Tenet, closed in 2009 after the hospital operator chose not to renew its lease, according to an Orange County Register report.

The new hospital features advanced operating rooms, two state-of-the-art catheterization labs, an orthopedics center of excellence and a fully staffed emergency department.
