University of Mississippi Medical Center Vice Chancellor Dr. James Keeton to Retire

University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson has announced James E. Keeton, MD, vice chancellor for health affairs and dean of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, will step down, effective June 30, 2015.

The vice chancellor, who has a dual role as dean of UMMC’s medical school, essentially acts as the chief executive of the medical center. Dr. Keeton has served in the roles since July 2009. A national search will be conducted to identify the next leader of the medical center.
