Sumner Regional Medical Center CFO resigns: 3 things to know

Sam Guild, CFO of Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kan., has tendered his resignation, according to a Wellington Daily News report.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Guild and his resignation.

1. Mr. Guild is leaving SRMC to take a new, unspecified job in Oklahoma.

2. Mr. Guild's resignation comes about one month after SRMC President and CEO Leonard Hernandez resigned to take over the CEO position at Burlington, Kan.-based Coffey Health System. Board member Tami Klinedinst also issued her own resignation around the same time, according to the report.

3. The positions of interim CEO and interim CFO have not yet been filled. However, officials expect that will happen quickly. "We're on a very fast track to get somebody to fill both of those roles," board member Terry Deschaine said, according to the Wellington Daily News. "That's our plan and that's our goal. We understand the importance of it, and we're going to get it done. Don't lose any sleep that we're not going to have anyone sitting in a chair to write a check."
