Subra Sripada expected to be CIO of newly merged Beaumont system

Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills, Mich., and Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich., finalized their merger Thursday. Gene Michalski, the current president and CEO of Beaumont Health System and CEO of the new system, has begun the process of selecting the rest of the new organization's executives, according to a report in Crain's Detroit Business.

Subra Sripada, the current executive vice president and chief administrative and information officer at Beaumont, is expected to be appointed CIO. He will oversee a staff that will include most of the three organizations' IT employees, according to the report.

One of the first major IT projects will be implementing an Epic EHR system at Botsford, which is currently running McKesson. Beaumont and Oakwood already use Epic, according to the report.
