Our Lady of the Lake announces leadership changes: 15 things to know

Baton Rouge, La.-based Our Lady of the Lake has announced changes to its leadership team.

Here are 15 things to know about the leaders involved.

Sybil Cotten has been named vice president of operations for emergency and surgical services.  

1. In her role, Ms. Cotton will oversee the operational activities of the emergency and surgery departments.  She will also maintain responsibilities at Our Lady of the Lake Livingston in Walker, La., where she has led operations since the campus opened in 2012.  

2. Ms. Cotten has also served in leadership roles for Lake Surgery Center and Same Day Surgery at Our Lady of the Lake.  

3. She has a master's degree in nursing with national board certification in advanced nursing administration and ambulatory perianesthesia nursing.

Laura Davis has been named assistant vice president of LSU Health Baton Rouge, which is a division of Our Lady of the Lake.  

4. Ms. Davis, who previously served as administrator of the program, has been an instrumental leader in the successful transition of LSU Health Baton Rouge and will continue to have operational oversight, according to the health system.  LSU Health Baton Rouge includes five clinic locations, two urgent care clinics, surgery center and a pharmacy.  

5. Ms. Davis has also served as executive director of Lake Imaging Center.

Shawn Wolkart has been named senior director of nursing for the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge.  

6. Ms. Wolkart most recently helped lead the nursing activities of the imaging division, endoscopy and special procedures, pediatric hematology/oncology, express admit and sedation services.  

7. She has been with Our Lady of the Lake for 10 years.

8. In her new role, Ms. Wolkart will be responsible for the performance of the Children's Hospital, developing positive relationships between the hospital and community agencies and fostering the hospital's image. 

Jason Rogers has been named senior director of nursing for critical care.  

9. In his role, Mr. Rogers is responsible for four adult intensive care units including a trauma-neuro ICU and a heart and vascular ICU.  

10. In his previous roles as nurse manager and director of critical care, Mr. Rogers was instrumental in the design and development of two new 24-bed intensive care units in the Heart & Vascular Institute that opened in 2013.

11. He currently leads several improvement projects including the Central Line Blood Stream Infection (CLABSI) prevention initiative and the implementation of a new scheduling and productivity software throughout the organization. He also serves as interim director of nursing for cardiology overseeing two cardiac telemetry units and two cardiovascular ambulatory units.

Kathy Hillis has been named senior director of nursing for mental and behavioral health.

12. She will be responsible for managing, evaluating and advancing outcomes across inpatient and outpatient programs.  

13. Ms. Hillis joined Our Lady of the Lake earlier this year to lead the nursing practice and operations for the mental and behavioral health division.

14. She has a master's degree in nursing administration and brings more than 20 years of experience to Our Lady of the Lake.

15. Prior to joining the team, Ms. Hillis was the program director and director of nursing at Horizon Health Management in Hot Springs, Ark.
