New president to lead Zeeland Community Hospital: 4 things to know

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health has picked Ron Lewis as the next president of Zeeland (Mich.) Community Hospital, according to a report from The Grand Rapids Press.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Lewis.

1. He will take over day-to-day operations of the 57-bed hospital, which is adding a new specialty clinic, on Nov. 2.

2. He succeeds Henry Veenstra, who is retiring at the end of this month.

3. For the last two years, Mr. Lewis worked at the Community Health Network East Region in Indianapolis, where he served as interim CEO and vice president of neuroscience. He was promoted to COO in May.

4. His 20-year career in healthcare also includes stints as administrative director of the Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital in Fishers and executive director of orthopedics, neurology and rehabilitation at Indiana University Health Bloomington (Ind.) Hospital.
