Nemours Children’s Hospital president Roger Oxendale to retire: 3 key points

Roger Oxendale, president of Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Fla., will retire at the end of the year.

Here are three key points about Mr. Oxendale and his time at the hospital.

1. Mr. Oxendale has led Nemours Children's Hospital for five years.

2. He joined Nemours in April 2010 and oversaw the construction of the $400 million hospital, which opened in Lake Nona Medical City in the fall of 2012, according to a news release. Mr. Oxendale also helped recruit many of the pediatric specialists serving at the hospital.

3. Mr. Oxendale will continue to serve as a senior vice president with Nemours through the end of the year, helping the health system with its plans to grow further in Florida and supporting  Dana Nicholson Bledsoe, FACHE, will become the next hospital president and will assume leadership in July.
