Natividad Medical Center gets new CEO: 3 things to know

Gary Gray, DO, has been appointed CEO of Salinas, Calif.-based Natividad Medical Center, effective Sept. 15.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Gray.

1. He has been serving as the hospital's interim CEO for the past seven months.

2. Dr. Gray has served in a number of physician leadership roles over the past 14 years at NMC, including CMO, chief of the medical staff, director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and service chief for family medicine.

3. During his time as a member of NMC's executive team, Dr. Gray has played a critical role in the dramatic improvement in key quality metrics, assessment and development of new clinical services, recruitment of expert staff, and guidance in strategic planning, the hospital said.  Specifically, he led the planning team in the development and designation of NMC's Level II Trauma Center.
